about the curator
hello all; my name is laura and i’m a twenty-something, lifelong anglophile. i’ve been inexplicably attracted to anything and everything british for about as long as i can remember. when i was twelve, i had a giant union jack pinned to the ceiling of my bedroom, and started subscribing to british heritage magazine. at fifteen, i regularly visited the british tearoom and gift shop near my hometown until it closed. (apparently, i was one of only a few north alabamians to have such fine taste.) this past april, i got up at 5 a.m. to watch the wedding of prince william and kate middleton, and cooked a proper british breakfast just for the occasion. i have been lucky enough to visit england twice, in 2007 and 2010, and i often daydream about my next trip, whenever that may be.
about this blog
i’ve created anglophiles anonymous as an outlet for my somewhat unique interest in - okay, obsession with - all things british. i’m a proud downtonian, sherlockian, janeite, ringer, potterhead, and newly-converted whovian, so you can expect a lot of posts from those fandoms. i’d also like to focus on travel, history, and various curiosities of british culture. feel free to drop me a line and ask a question or suggest a topic you’d like me to cover! cheers ♥
