I'm British and I think it's incredibly flattering that so many people around the world want to celebrate what they see as positive aspects of our culture and way of life, both past and present. We're all keenly aware of the faults in our own countries; seeing people from abroad really love and adore the positives of one's own country can be really heartening.

reblogging myself because there is a lot of flaming, angry hate in that tag right now and i know i shouldn’t let it bother me, but really, people? why is that necessary? 

i think i might just stop tracking it for a while. maybe even for good. it’s more frustrating than enjoyable or useful at the moment.
