Huge placard photograph of the Royal Family on the Silver Jubilee in 1977 (I was four years old and remember the street parties), covering Sea Containers House on the south bank of the Thames in London.

lovely! princess beatrice isn’t exactly known for a great sense of style (royal wedding hat disaster, anyone?), so it’s refreshing to see her looking chic and put-together. very classy.
Came across this amongst various things at my Granny’s today. Sent by my Grandfather’s brother home, presumably in 1937 the coronation year of George VI.

i hate to post stuff from the daily fail, but this seems to be pretty legitimate and i can’t seem to find it being talked about anywhere more reputable. i heard this being discussed on bbc radio 2 this morning and thought it was very interesting. hovis, a british bakery, recently conducted a survey asking people what makes them most proud to be british. the top three answers?
you can check out the article for the full list of results with percentages. if you asked me what i love most about britain, i would find it very hard to narrow things down, but i think those 3 things would probably rank pretty highly with me!
such a powerful little man.
